Our Producers
CoralQuay cares about its Producers. Through giving access to markets in the developed 'North' CoralQuay is helping Producers to trade their way out of poverty. Fair Trade is a trading partnership, based on dialogue, transparency and respect, which seeks greater equity in international trade. It contributes to sustainable development by offering better trading conditions to, and securing the rights of, marginalised producers and workers in the 'South'.
CoralQuay aims to make sure that FairTrade transactions must include :
- Paying fair prices to producers which reflect the true cost of production
- Supporting producer organisations in their social and environmental projects
- Promoting gender equality in pay and working conditions
- Advising on product development to increase access to markets
- Committing to long term relationships to provide stability and security
- Campaigning to highlight the unequal system of world trade which sometimes places profit above human rights and the Environment
CoralQuay contributes to Projects outside the trading relationship, supports educational and welfare issues within Projects. This is an ongoing policy where CoralQuay will seek to help Projects, and the people involved in them, develop their full potential.
